I’ve just returned from my ‘second home’ – the Isle of Wight, where amongst other places we visited the excellent Festival of Light at Robin Hill Country Park, a celebration of Diwali, and also Queen Victoria’s summer residence, Osborne House at East Cowes.  I’ve attached some photos for you as a pleasant way to start your Wednesday!

At Osborne House they were filming ‘Victoria and Abdul’, which is due to be released next September.  Photography was allowed for the first time ever, but only in the rooms which were not film sets.  I just love the nursery with its row of cots and the original cradle made for Princess Victoria’s birth.  Next to the cots is the bed for the governess, who obviously had many broken nights with 9 children to look after!  You can also see the bed where Queen Victoria died, with Albert’s photo on the left side of the headboard.

Just to make your Wednesday even brighter, my collection of 4 novellas will be free from today and until October 9th.  Don’t forget to grab your copy!
