This week question is as follows:
If somebody gave you a free plane ticket to anywhere in the world. Where would you go to, and why?
Nestling in the Grenadine Islands of St. Vincent in the Caribbean is the small private island of Mustique, which to me seems like 2.2 square miles of paradise on earth! It has just 100 private villas, mostly owned by the rich and famous.
According to Wikipedia, Mustique was purchased in 1958 by Colin Tennant, 3rd Baron Glenconner, under whose guidance the island began to be developed. In 1960, he gave Princess Margaret a wedding present of 10-acres of land on Mustique, where she built a residence called Les Jolies Eaux. In 1979, Mustique Island was transformed from a family estate into a private limited company with the homeowners as shareholders.
Being of a solitary nature, I’d like to rent one of the private villas, sit on the beach above and look out onto the blue waters, or go swimming in a sea that is clear and warm and free from pollution.
