I’ve been listening to a series of several podcasts over the last few days about the causes of cancer while I’ve been checking my social media sites, and what I’ve heard has surprised me greatly.  Most of what I’ve discovered has turned around all the general ideas and views that people have about what causes cancer and what is the best treatment for cancer.  I’ve learned from several naturopathic doctors that apart from the known carcinogens we should also avoid man-made sugar products, soya protein, mushrooms (with the exception of chaga mushrooms), glutamate, aspartame, vaccines, root canal fillings, fluoride toothpaste, radiotherapy and chemotherapy,  and that we should take care of our spines, as pinched nerves can have a bearing on the ‘flight-or-fight’ mechanism which produces too much adrenaline.

The discussions I’ve been listening to are very compelling. The big pharmaceutical industries perpetuate the myth that toxic chemicals kill cancer cells, but generally they tend to only kill the daughter cells and not the cancer stem cells.  The idea of naturopathy is to build up our immune systems to heal ourselves from within and banish the cancer stem cells that are so hard to treat, and not put poisons into our bodies to weaken or destroy our resistance to disease.  Naturopaths suggest bathing in essential oils, and making sure we have green vegetables, blood oranges, turmeric, ginger, raspberries, figs, red grapes and iodine in our daily diets.  I’ve learned about Essiac tea, something I’ve never heard of before (I looked on one of our national health food websites – they don’t sell it).  Apparently I should also be taking Vitamin B17 (Amygdalin) which is present in apricot kernels (Vitamin B17 was banned by the FDA in the 1980’s).

Here’s the irony.  I’ve been given a high fluoride toothpaste and mouthwash to use for life, to combat possible radiotherapy-induced dental decay/necrosis!  When I looked up apricot kernels on Google there’s an article about how dangerous they are as they can turn to poison in the body.  It’s difficult to know what to do to try and help yourself if you’re suffering from cancer.  However, I have come to the conclusion that it’s time to get my blender down from its perch on top of a kitchen cupboard and start juicing up raw organic vegetables.  I’ve ordered some frankincense oil instead of my usual bubble bath, and yesterday sprinkled some turmeric in a casserole as well as my usual herbs and peppers.  It immediately made it smell like curry, which I hate!

There’s another 4 podcasts to watch, which only stay up for a day or two.  There is evidence from cancer survivors of how they beat the disease using only nature’s ingredients.  However, my mother beat uterine cancer with 6 weeks of radiotherapy back in the 1980’s.  My instinct is to now shun the 6 weeks of radiation I’m booked to have starting tomorrow, and pour green vegetables and fruits down my throat instead, but hey, would I be doing the right thing? Who knows?

So far there isn’t a known cure for the disease that is affecting more and more people as time goes on. My family would be appalled if I stopped radiotherapy, so what I’ve eventually decided to do is to have both treatments running one alongside the other, and then I’m getting the best of both worlds (I hope).

What would you do?

P.S I’m not quite sure if I should leave a link to the podcasts as I had to sign up for them. They’re free, but if anybody wants a link they can message me at stevie@stevie-turner-author.co.uk
