Life to me seems a series of ups and downs.  You’ve only got to listen to Frank Sinatra singing ‘That’s Life’ to know what I mean.

March was a horrible month for me, as I had to deal with my mother’s death and funeral, and then I had to start 6 weeks of radiotherapy.

I’m two weeks into treatment now.  I’m feeling a little tired, and my mouth is quite sore.  However, on the book front I’ve had a great couple of weeks.  Repent at Leisure recently won third place in the 2016 Drunken Druid Book Awards, and today I received an email from the Depth of Field International Film Festival that my screenplay ‘For the Sake of a Child’ had won a silver award.

All screenplays winning gold and silver are going to be read by a major independent film finance, development and production company based in Los Angeles!  I had a look on their website, and it says that the company focuses on commercially viable feature length film projects starring A-list Hollywood talent in the $1M – $50M range.

You never know just what life is going to throw at you.  April and May are going to be a real test of endurance for me, but hopefully I’m going to be back on top again in June.
