I’ve had a great time reading all your super stories. Thanks to everybody who took part this month, and I hope you will all continue to send in some more stories as the months go by, and also maybe to even spread the word on your own websites. I had a hard time picking out my favourite story for October.
I won’t do that very annoying thing of keeping you all on a cliff-hanger and promising to reveal the winner in my next blog just to boost my daily stats (!), so I’m pleased to announce that the winner for October is….
Dawn Smith Gondeck, also, known as ‘Random Bits of Trial & Error’ (Mike and Dawn).
Here’s the link to her lovely story ‘Pink Peonies’. It somehow reminded me of when I was in New Orleans earlier this year. I think it was reading about the old lady sitting on her porch that did it!

Let’s see if even more authors submit short stories for November! I will feature a link to the winning story and also one of the author’s books on my newsletter for the following month, and in addition will share a link to this page on my Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Stumbleupon sites. If you wish to submit for November, please wait for a new blog post to appear first. Thank you.
Stevie, it looks like you got a good response for the first month. Congratulations to you and to the winner.

Fantastic offerings here and congrats to Dawn.
When you mentioned New Orleans, I remembered how close, yet far we were – me getting off the Equinox after a Caribbean cruise and you getting on to go on the Mardi Gras cruise, that I was also so close to staying and going another round. I remember you telling me about the storm getting back to ship. Can you imagine if we were chatting on the blog and found we were actually on the same ship at the same time? 🙂

Very cool. Thank you, Stevie. I look forward to reading the other wonderful offerings. I hope at least a few more folks will jump over to read the Tallis Steelyard tale written by Jim Webster *especially* for ADDandSoMuchMORE.com, since all of the articles on my blog have a mental health thread running through them.
In this touching short story of his travels wandering bard Tallis meets [possibly] the rightful heir to the throne of his realm and a grandmother with dementia taken care of by a boy who shows all signs of being on the autistic spectrum. Bring your kleenex.

Thanks for taking part. Do send in some more stories – the competition is monthly and gains more exposure for authors.
