Here on Sunday Stills the topic this week is ‘Holiday Decor‘:
As you can read in my blog about Christmas trees that I posted on Thursday, we’re not ones for loads of decorations in the house. To us it looks tacky and then the house looks bare when they’re all taken down in January. Instead we prefer to light up the outside of the house and the garden, as you can see from these photos below of Christmases past.
The photos incorporate Sam’s efforts in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018 (he had his leg in plaster in 2017 and so couldn’t get up the ladder!). The grandchildren look forward to seeing the lights, but they know Nanny and Grandad aren’t too keen on inside foliage:

I love outdoor lights (yours are really lovely and quite festive)! I miss doing them. When the girls were younger, I managed to have outdoor lights and other decorations. Once we started traveling for Christmas, of course, that changed. I didn’t want to be THAT house that was dark on Christmas eve if people drove by to look. I go the simple route for indoor decor, and yes the house looks bare, but I have my winter decorations at the ready when we get home from traveling. Thanks for participating in Sunday Stills, Stevie and enjoy your holidays!

Thanks Terri. I hope you have a good Christmas too. I prefer outdoor lights instead of inside decorations.

Wow! Love the lights. We have some here too but we are the only ones as it is not as popular here in Spain. Hubby enjoys putting up the outside lights. xo

Thanks Darlene. Sometimes I’ve looked out the window and villagers are standing in our garden gazing up in awe!
