I read an interesting article on the BBC News app recently.  A chap, Miles Taverner, discovered a message in a bottle on the shore in his hometown of Burnham-on-Crouch.  It was written by a man called Alfie Hillier, who as you can imagine is totally unrelated to Miles.

However, very soon after Miles found the message, he was given a suggested friend on Facebook, who strangely enough was the very same Alfie Hillier who had written the message in a bottle.

This to me smacks of more Big Brother issues.  Does Miles have an ‘Alexa’ listening device at home and had mentioned in conversation finding Alfie’s message in a bottle?

I don’t know if Miles had tried to search for Alfie on Facebook, but if he hadn’t,  then it’s rather worrying regarding just who is listening to conversations in private residences.  I’m just thankful I don’t have an ‘Alexa’!
