Here on Sunday Stills this week the topic is ‘Thankful‘.
In the UK we don’t have Thanksgiving Day, and I am not at all religious. Therefore I’ll add a few photos to show what I am thankful for.
First of course is my family. I am thankful for all the people seen sitting here below with Sam and I who make up our immediate and extended family. There’s another one to add, our little grandson Luca, but he wasn’t born back in May 2019 when this photo was taken.

Secondly I am thankful for my health, having survived stage 4 advanced thyroid cancer. I am thankful at age 63 to still be able to climb the steep hill up to the Tennyson Monument at Freshwater, Isle of Wight, and to cycle about at home in Suffolk around the country lanes.

I’m also thankful that I still have a job, and that my eyesight hasn’t deteriorated to the point where I cannot go out to work or write my stories.
What are you thankful for?
Beautiful photos and sentiments Stevie. Yes, mostly it’s been a crappy year for many, but being grateful for all we do have there is much gratitude. And how many times do I think about my own vision problems and say a silent thanks above that I too have my vision after almost losing it completely. There’s always things to be grateful for – just sometimes they’re taken for granted. 🙂 xx

I think I wrote about it long ago. Too much pressure behind the lens – in both eyes it turned out. Told if wasn’t caught, I’d be totally blind in both eyes. I had a laser eye surgery done which burnt a tiny microscopic pinhole in each eye to relieve the pressure about 12 years ago. Oye! ❤

Luckily I go for check ups annually! Reminds me I’m due about now and no eye doctors in office 😦

Lots of things to be thankful for, Stevie. I think any of us that come through this year in good health should be grateful.

Yep. I’m grateful not even to have had a cold this year.

I am also very thankful for my fabulous family. My two kids, four grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. Also my wonderful mother and two caring brothers. And of course my dear husband and sweet dog who have got me through this not so great year. I love your family picture. xo

You don’t look old enough to be a great grandmother, Darlene!

Thanks! That is kind of you to say. We tend to have our children young in my family. My mom has great-great-grandchildren!
