The weather has been glorious since we arrived on the Isle of Wight last Wednesday. We have been getting out and about on our bikes and discovering new cycle paths. Pub gardens are open for a rest from cycling, and we have taken full advantage of this – thanks Boris!
Below is a memento of our time on the Island so far. We still have a couple of days of our holiday left. I was disappointed to find that my calf muscles have weakened a bit after 5 months on the flat in Suffolk, but they’ll soon toughen up again as we’ll be back here as often as we can throughout the year.
Here’s where we stay. Our solar lights are still working from last year. The first three photos below the van are from cycle rides along the Yar estuary, then below that on the left is the cycle track from Shanklin to Sandown, and the last two are of the Medina estuary.

This looks really great, Stevie. But I never want to live there in a storm, do I? 😉 Best wishes, and enjoy the wonderful weather you have, Michael

We’ve survived many storms on the Island over the years. One of the worst ones was at night when I thought our caravan would be blown away!

I thought so. Oh, I’d rather be in this basin, here at the end of the world. 😉 Have a nice day, Stevie! Best wishes, Michael

The ideal spot for you. We loved it there the one time we visited but I can see there is much more to see than we had time for.

Looks great, Stevie. I can understand feeling the effects of the hills. Since living in a bungalow in Norfolk, I even find a lot of stairs quite a challenge. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.

It always happens if we’re in Suffolk for a long time. East Anglia’s no good for calf muscles, lol.
