Today on Sunday Stills the subject is ‘Going Back‘. I’m going to take this as meaning going back in time, and so will share some old family photos with you which show 6 generations. The first 3 generations are all in the next world now, but I have some lovely memories of Dad and his mother. The only one I don’t remember is my great-grandfather, who died when I was a toddler.
Great-grandfather (far right) in the 1920s. Strange looking bloke wasn’t he? He had 16 children! His third daughter, my paternal grandmother. This was taken around 1975.Her son, my father, taken around 1945.His daughter, me, aged about 6. I still remember that dress! My two little cherubs around 1990.Both sons’ children around August 2020.
I thought had some keepers with my mom the goat whisperer… Great stuff. I love old pictures, even if I’m clueless as to who they are. I go through all the ancient postcards in antique and junk shops.
I love your family photos, Stevie and your take on the theme. A beautiful family for sure. Your father is very handsome and reminds me of the actor James Franco.

Ah, so I’m not the only one then! I love old sepia-tinted postcards and photos of stern Victorians in their finery.

Thanks Terri, Dad’s father was handsome too but I haven’t got any photos of him. I had to Google James Franco because I hadn’t heard of him!

Lol. Apparently my mother thought me ‘evil’ because the cuteness hid an iron will that drove her to distraction.
