Today on Sunday Stills Terri has chosen the theme ‘Sweet‘.
Back in 2007 when Sam and I were 50 within a month of each other, my cousin (a chef) concocted this amazing cake for our joint party. It was rather sweet and very rich! Inside he had put sponge layers filled with fresh cream and raspberries.

That looks a like a really sweet cake, Stevie! Hans and I are two months apart and we did a big combined 60th b-day party three years ago. It was sweet but no cake!

We just a had a big party at a bar and grill. We did have a cake that the bar and grill provided, now that I think about it, Stevie.

It was very sweet, but everybody enjoyed it. I ate the strawberries because I wouldn’t have fared too well if I’d eaten all that fresh cream.

For my 70th birthday, Paul had a cake made for me in the shape of a book. It was great but I couldn’t eat the icing as it was too sweet.

It’s quite rare that I eat cake these days. I find all cakes too sweet now.

It’s good to be so close in age, and that was a great cake!
(My first wife was two weeks older than me, so we always had joint celebrations.)
Best wishes, Pete.

Sam is one month older than me. Yes it is good to be close in age; you grow up with similar experiences and enjoy the same bands. We even found out our parents took us to the same holiday camp at Camber Sands back in the early 1970s.
