This week the topic on Sunday Stills is ‘Wildlife’.
As I look out of the kitchen window of my holiday home on the Isle of Wight, I often see red squirrels darting about. One was even brave enough to climb up our sun parasol, jump onto the table, and look at us as we were eating our breakfast! There are no grey squirrels on the Island, just red ones, and on the mainland you only see grey squirrels.
Here’s another Island photo – a swan on the estuary near Freshwater Bay. The path you see running to the right is an old disused railway track – great for walking and cycling along. Just near to the path is the old Victorian station master’s house. It’s been extended now into a family home, but we were lucky enough to be able to look around the original part of it. I’ve no idea how he fitted a wife and 11 children into it. The kids must have played outside a lot!
I’m on my way back to Suffolk today, so this post is scheduled. I can’t wait until I’m back on the Island again in April.
