I’m doing just what Boris has told me to do – to exercise alone once a day. Here’s some photos of this morning’s 3+ mile self-isolating walk. I didn’t see a soul while I was out, and it was rather lovely marching along in the sunshine! The walk takes about an hour and ten minutes. Suffolk wouldn’t appeal to those who are after a bit of culture, but you’ll be okay here if you like tractors. We have blue ones, green ones, and red ones…
Looks like a nice, crisp day, I used to love my cycling and cycled over in both Norfolk and Suffolk in my time. I used to cycle crazy silly distances, a few hundred mi per month, and can’t do it at all any more. The funny thing is that I don’t really miss it. But it did used to keep me very fit.

I don’t do hundreds of miles, but usually about 45 minutes at a time of walking or cycling. I’m an old bird now and have to pace myself!

Thanks Jennie. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea though, but I like it. My mother hated living up here, and preferred London.

It is definitely my cup of tea, while the city was my mother’s as well. Thanks, Stevie.

Mother earth just started healing. The silence it gets is what she needed to heal. These photos look beautiful. ❤❤😍✌

I also took a three-mile walk today, although mine wasn’t as pretty as yours. I came across a few people along the way. What struck me as odd is that some wouldn’t even look up and say hello. The whole thing just feels weird.

Yes, it’s surreal isn’t it? People cross over to the other side of the street when they see me. It makes me feel like a leper!

Wow, what a beautiful location! What I found interesting, is when we went for our walk we are actually seeing more people than normal. I think now that everyone has to stay indoors they are taking every opportunity to use that 1 outdoor exercise.
Thankfully the pathways are large and we were all able to keep our distance. One noticeable difference was due to the lack of cars on the road, the sounds of the birds was magnified and it was lovely hearing them all

Yes, I love hearing the birds twitter, and also love the smell of cut grass, which was wafting on the air this morning.

No yellow tractors? What a deprived county Suffolk must be 😂
Glad you’re well and getting out. Take care.

There’s lots of yellow JCB diggers, but I don’t usually see yellow tractors, mainly red and green ones. I wonder why?

I’ve no idea tbh. A farmer’s wheat field ran across the bottom of our garden when I was a kid and he had a yellow tractor, to match his combine harvester. Mind you, he was a bit bonkers so maybe he sprayed them that colour himself!

It looks heavenly, especially now. I’m not a loner but am preferring the solitude right now as I don’t want to get sick or inadvertently spread anything. Someone from my book club which met two weeks ago, just before the lockdown, has the virus. You just never know. The fresh air is good for you.

It is. As of now I don’t know anybody who has had the virus. I’ll carry on doing this walk every morning for as long as I can.

It took about a year to get used to the slower pace of life and the local accent. Our neighbour once said to me…”Oi ‘av ter go t’ aahspital fer me to-off’. I said how sorry I was that he had to have his toe off. He looked at me as if I was mad. Turns out he was going to hospital to have his tooth out!

Thank you. Suffolk has its charm I suppose, and it’s great if you’re a bit of a loner like me! I spent 33 years living in London, and I have to say I do prefer living in the countryside.
