Good info here for writers from Bridget Whelan.
Granta calls itself the magazine for new writing but that simple description doesn’t do it justice. One of the best Christmas presents I’ve ever had was a subscription so I can tell you with confidence that it deserves its reputation as one of the most prestigious literary magazines in the English language. Publication within its covers can launch careers, so the big news is that its doors are once more open to unsolicited submissions.
They only publish original material so don’t send anything that has already appeared on the web or in print. While there is no set maximum or minimum length, most submissions are between 3,000-6,000 words. You can only submit one complete story or essay, or up to three poems at a time.
Here’s the submission timetable.
Poetry 3 October – 3 November 2016
Fiction 16 January – 16 February…

Thank you for the message as the updates on posts are always appreciated as I really like reading your blog and finding out about what you’re doing. I would like to point out to you if you don’t mind me doing it this way as opposed to getting in touch with you through your website that these emails that come into my inbox are being delivered in the required folder when I get them as expected but there is one thing I didn’t quite notice and that was the fact that it seems to label the emails in my email programme as _UnknownSender@UnknownDomain_ (mailto:UnknownSender@UnknownDomain) although I have listed it in my approved email addresses list. I am wondering why it labels mail from you as unrecognised email when I have preset these emails as recognised messages. I also put your adress and any associated ones in my addressbook so that I would always get it whenever a message was sent. I would be very grateful if you could be able to suggest anything that might explain what was happening.

Goodness, I have no idea! I’m no computer geek I’m afraid. Perhaps somebody else who reads this might know?

OK, thanks for giving me the heads up. I didn’t think that you weren’t getting understanding on something I was referring to. Didn’t you print some content on the page I was meaning to give a comment about that I was responding to in the expression I gave in the message.
