This week the Sunday Stills photography challenge is hosted by Hugh at Hugh’s Views & News. The topic is ‘Edge’.
I thought I’d share a photo of myself in 2016 on the edge of the cliffs at Tennyson Down, Isle of Wight. I’m wearing my festival poncho, as the wind was quite bracing that day (that’s an understatement). I needed the walking poles for the journey down again, as the quads weren’t as good then as they are now (I’ve since taken up cycling).
I love it up there. Shame though that there’s no toilet or café at the top, just the monument to Lord Tennyson. However, the cliffs are used daily by hundreds of ramblers and dog walkers. It’s better when the sun’s shining!

Great shot of edge, Stevie! I think I only like wind when I can use it to windsurf, otherwise I might tumble over that edge!

I’m mindful not to go too near the edge…

A great way to clear the cobwebs from our minds. I’m glad you didn’t go too close to the edge, though. I’ve seen some people sit on the edge of cliffs and have a picnic.

Beautiful spot. Are those cliffs the ones referred to as ‘the Seven Sisters’?

No, that’s Tennyson Down, formerly High Down.

Ha ha, thanks Robbie. It can be very windy up on the cliffs. However, it’s great if you’re into hiking. It’s a ramblers’ paradise up there.
