Thanks to SparklyPrettyBriiiight for sharing Billie Eilish’s new James Bond theme song. I quite like it, however I’m unsure whether it’s my old ears or not, but some of the words aren’t very clear and Billie seems to be mumbling just a little bit. There… I’m sounding just like my mother!

It’s not your ears, she needed a cough drop before the session. I like the track way better than the vocal, and even it mushes up about 2/3rds through. If you’re going to bury it in “atmospheric” reverb, let it breathe. That much low end breathy mumbling needs a frame around it, not a mattress under it. My .02. I watched the live version and it was worse. I imagine she’s mumbling through her tears all the way to the bank…

I did not like the beginning of the song. It was too breathy and difficult to make out the words. I almost stopped listening, but I’m glad I didn’t. The music is good.

Exactly what I thought. Too breathy and she mumbles. I do like the song though… just can’t hear all the words.
