The Government has expressed concern that some retailers are inflating prices of products in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic in order to offset their costs and reduced sales during the year.
Well, I can confirm the Government has got it right for once. When I went out looking for Christmas decorations this morning, I just had to take a second look at the super-inflated price of this artificial tree below. Yep… I was correct the first time – it was nearly £600!

Honestly, who at the moment can afford nearly £600 for a Christmas tree? Some people are relying on food banks at the moment to feed their children. I just hope that this retailer, who shall be nameless, finds to their dismay that they still have all their stock of Christmas trees when it comes to December 26th.
Sam says at that price you’d want Santa himself to fly from Lapland and decorate the bloody thing!
Disgusting!

Wow! This cant be a wooden tree. It must be from gold, and needles silver plated, but for understatement coloured green. 😉 Think they are a little bit crazy. Michael

A way to grab back money leached out due to Covid. However… who’s buying?

I suppose so, but I can’t help thinking they’d make more by profiting less on each one.

I suspect they only had 1 in stock?

That’s ridiculous! Especially made for those with more money than sense. I think you should name and shame them: I’m guessing it wasn’t Poundland?

I didn’t know there was a Horrid’s up your way. Or have Homebase gone upmarket?

Downmarket in my opinion…

At that price you’d have to keep it on display all year to get your money’s worth out of it – for one year it is, I think, around £1.60 a day. Plus electricity, if you can still afford it…
