Hey, fellow writers, here’s a new blog hop to get the creative juices flowing. Each Wednesday I’ll post a sentence to start the ‘Ninety Nine‘ story off, and then anyone can join in and finish it so that the story has a total of 99 words. Some Ninety Nines will be more difficult to finish than others. Please keep it reasonably clean. Thanks.
Here’s the first sentence…
She climbed into the hot air balloon, glad that she had written and signed her will.
Here’s my effort, and I’ll look forward to reading yours:
She climbed into the hot air balloon, glad that she had written and signed her will. She had put off her son Joe’s Buy- a-Gift trip for her fiftieth birthday for as long as she could, but with the good August weather she could not hold out any longer.
Heat from the burners caused yet another hot flush and made her cling to the edge of the basket. With the anchor cable disconnected, the balloon began to rise. She gave a feeble wave to Joe, took a deep breath, and decided to enjoy briefly being one with the birds.
Click on the button below to join your blog to this one, and try to comment on at least two stories. I’ll schedule another two Ninety Nines for when I’m away, but it’s going to be a while before I can read your contributions.

You are not alone! I added my story on the main page. I’ve turned off the computer for the day but I can’t do much on this phone. I’ll read yours when I get home from work tomorrow . Have no fear…

Yeah, I forgot to add my own, lol. Looks like it’s going to be a bit of a damp squib unless somebody else is brave enough to take part…

Where indeed, lol. If ever I asked my dad where somebody was, he’d always reply “sitting on a pot with a rug around them.” Don’t know why he said this, but he did. When we were at the IOW festival one year, our son sent a text and asked where we were. Sam replied that we were sitting on a rug with pot all around us. So Clive, Darlene and all are either sitting on a pot or a rug, lol!

I’ve been so busy with inheritances lately, that I would use your lines now as the start of a murder case. 😉 xx Michael
