In all the years we have lived in our village (31+) the stream has never run totally dry. However, this is now no longer the case. Here’s a rather sad photo that shows how global warming is creeping up on us here in East Anglia. There was a very small drizzle of rain yesterday, but that’s all we’ve had for weeks.

Also I’ve noticed that the harvest is early this year. We’ve already got bales of hay on the fields that usually appear at the end of August…

It’s rather worrying. I remember the water shortage in the drought of 1976 and how the Army had to give out bottled water when the taps ran dry. I’m waiting for a hosepipe ban to be announced, which I am sure is coming soon…
