Life to me seems a series of ups and downs. You’ve only got to listen to Frank Sinatra singing ‘That’s Life’ to know what I mean.
March was a horrible month for me, as I had to deal with my mother’s death and funeral, and then I had to start 6 weeks of radiotherapy.
I’m two weeks into treatment now. I’m feeling a little tired, and my mouth is quite sore. However, on the book front I’ve had a great couple of weeks. Repent at Leisure recently won third place in the 2016 Drunken Druid Book Awards, and today I received an email from the Depth of Field International Film Festival that my screenplay ‘For the Sake of a Child’ had won a silver award.

All screenplays winning gold and silver are going to be read by a major independent film finance, development and production company based in Los Angeles! I had a look on their website, and it says that the company focuses on commercially viable feature length film projects starring A-list Hollywood talent in the $1M – $50M range.
You never know just what life is going to throw at you. April and May are going to be a real test of endurance for me, but hopefully I’m going to be back on top again in June.

Glad to hear it, hope it helps 😊 It seems to me that there’s better opportunities for screenplays in contests than books. Glad to hear it, hope it helps 😊 It seems to me that there’s better opportunities for screenplays in contests than books.

Good news like that more than makes up for some of the bad times. Rest as much as you can, for I have a feeling your year will be busy!

I’m not really a contest person but you have my admiration for doing so.

So pleased things are going well on the book front for you!! At least March is behind you now. Hope the rest of the treatment goes OK. At least you have your wonderful Isle of Wight get-away.
