I can now happily update you on my previous blog. My fifth grandchild and third grandson Luca, 9lb 4oz, was born on 30th July at 17:38 after a long and arduous 31 hour labour ending with a caesarean. Mother and baby are doing well, and we’re all mightily relieved!
But hey, it’s Friday already, and on Fridays I do my bit to promote Indie authors/bloggers by posting either Click & Run, Friday Book Share, or Friday Review Share. This week it’s the turn of ‘Click & Run’, which runs all week, and which seems to be the most popular of the three.
You know what to do by now… just leave a link to whichever blog post you’d like to share this week. You only need to read and comment on other blog posts if you want to – there are no mandatory rules here. Live and let live, that’s my philosophy…
Please keep the blogs reasonably family friendly though. If I see any nasties I will have to delete them!
Thanks to the bloggers who always take part and leave their links. I’m looking forward to cuddling my new grandson, so…. see you soon! x

Hello Stevie. I hope you got the link to work all right. I’ve just read Phil Huston’s short fiction. It made me laugh. I always imagine the future without criminals but I suppose human nature never changes. If I was a criminal I’d be like Cary Grant on the riviera, debonair and clever and I’d steal diamonds.

No, the link doesn’t work, and I can’t find your post on your blog. Did you click on the title of the post itself and use that link?

Hello Stevie. I’m so not computer literate. I thought I had done it properly. And it’s definitely on my site. I need my daughter here to sort out the site for me. i’ll try again. Thanks for having a go anyway.

Thanks Phil. With hindsight they should have done the caesarean straight away, but she’s got her prize so she’s happy.

They try not to jump straight to C section, but whatever prenatal vitamins these girls are taking almost makes it a given.

Are you coping, would you have coped with home schooling? Our youngest was 35 yesterday, and has been earning his own living since her was sixteen, so it wasn’t the end of the world that he would never do anything at school that involved writing! Home schooling would have been a nightmare…

Ellen writes about the mid-17th century civil war. I wrote a bit about an earlier one and how it came to influence Irish history. All part of a cunning plan to sell more copies of Strongbow’s Wife as we approach the 850th anniversary of her marriage.

Hi Stevie. Congratulations to all on Luca’s arrival into the world. Hope you’re all well.
For a change, I posted three times this week. This was the first, a trawl through Spam: https://wp.me/p2FNZK-1BG
Closely followed by a tribute to Peter Green https://wp.me/p2FNZK-1Dd and the usual Tuesday Tunes. Have a lovely weekend 😊

Hello Stevie. Congratulations on your new grandson. I’d love another one myself but there’s no sign of it! This is my first time to leave a link. It’s a review of a short story by D H Lawrence – a fantasy tale and unforgettable.

Congratulations, Stevie. I’ve got a post here (which required much less than 31 hours of labor) about Aphra Behn, the first English woman to make her living as a writer. Frustratingly, very little is known about her, but it’s okay, we can have fun with that. https://notesfromtheuk.com/2020/07/31/everything-we-dont-know-about-aphra-behn/
And if that doesn’t grab you, I’ve got one over here involving the pandemic and interplanetary theology. It has very few miles on the odometer and belonged to a little old lady who never learned how to drive. https://notesfromtheuk.com/2020/07/29/quarantine-sunburn-and-interplanetary-theology-its-the-pandemic-news-from-britain/
