Today on Sunday Stills the topic is ‘Sports and Hobbies’.
I only have one sport/hobby besides my main hobby of writing, and it’s cycling. I cycle for at least half an hour every day (unless the weather is particularly bad) and at the weekends Sam and I go out for a longer ride around the country lanes near our village. Here’s some bike photos of pleasant outings in Suffolk and on the Isle of Wight where we have a holiday home.

I love cycling too but don’t live in an area that makes it easy. We just got back from a vacation and the location has over 30 miles of bike paths. We LOVE it and try to take as many opportunities to hop on bikes and explore.

We’re lucky to be surrounded by country lanes.

Like I’ve said, my knees and butt hurt looking at the pictures. Old guy Yoga, weights and a two mile daily behind a 52 pound 8-month-old Irish Setter keep my bones together. I fear I’d become one of those geezers with a walker if I got too close to a bike.

Try it. It’s great… especially if you can find a track away from cars.

Congratulations on keeping the cycling up, it’s great exercise, I’d be fit to drop if I tried that.

Thanks Terri. It’s great to get away from cars and find quiet paths to cycle down.

What a wonderful landscape. Cycling is told to be the best workout, for health. But you always need a car free environment. Thanks for sharing the impressions, Stevie! Have a nice Sunday! xx Michael

Thanks Michael. We use forest paths and disused railways if possible rather than the roads.

Thats the best. These days most of the car drivers are too selfesteemed about there driving experiences. ;- )xx Michael

I admire you for doing all that cycling. One of my elderly neighbours used to cycle 4 miles to work and back every day on a full-szie bike. She still does it, but now has an electrically-assisted folding bike, as she was getting knee trouble. I bought her old bike for my step-daughter, so she can now ride it to and from school when she takes her young son in. He follows her on the pavement on his scooter. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
